An optical telecommunication system comprising a transmitting station and a receiving station for optical signals, connected with each other by an optical fibre line including optical line amplifiers having a rare-earth-doped active fibre and connected in series, in which the transmitting station comprises generation means for generating signals at several predetermined wavelengths, and conveyor means for conveying said signals to a single optical fibre line, and said optical signal receiving station comprises separation means for separating said signals, in which at least one of said optical line amplifier has dopants, fibre length and pumping power capable of determining, at the input of the receiving station, an optical signal/noise ratio which between the different wavelengths has a difference lower than 2 dB, and for each signal is greater than 15 dB.
