ABSTRACT In an improved transistor amplifier, first and second transistors are coupled in series by connecting the collector of the first one to the emitter of the second one and the collector of the second transistor is connected through a resistor to a first voltage supply as high as about twice the breakdown voltage of these transistors. A third transistor has its collector connected to the base of the second transistor and a second voltage supply of lower voltage than the first voltage supply through a load resistor, and the base of the third transistor is connected to the base of the first transistor. By this arrangement, the output voltage of the second transistor is divided into the respective collector-emitter voltages of the first and second transistors, and an output voltage exceeding the breakdown voltage of each transistor is obtainable.
