The present invention is directed to systems and methods for providing an AGC circuit for maintaining a constant output power level from an amplifier. More specifically, the AGC circuit includes a circuitry for determining whether an input signal is a QAM or a CW signal. A QAM/CW gain switch is then controlled depending upon the input signal. Depending upon the mode of the QAM/CW gain switch, the AGC circuit either attenuates the power level of the signal or bypasses the signal. The bypassed or attenuated signal is then compared to a reference signal so that the AGC circuit produces an adjusting voltage accordingly. The amplifier finally receives the adjusting voltage and attenuates the output power level of the signal.
La présente invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés permettant d'obtenir un circuit AGC pour maintenir constant un niveau de puissance de sortie d'un amplificateur. De façon plus précise, le circuit AGC comprend un circuit pour déterminer si un signal d'entrée est un signal QAM ou un signal CW. Un commutateur de gain QAM/CW est ensuite commandé en fonction du signal d'entrée. Suivant le mode du commutateur de gain QAM/CW, le circuit AGC soit atténue le niveau de puissance du signal, soit dérive le signal. Le signal dérivé ou atténué est ensuite comparé à un signal de référence de telle sorte que le circuit AGC produit une tension d'ajustement en conséquence. L'amplificateur reçoit enfin la tension d'ajustement et atténue le niveau de puissance de sortie du signal.
