ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An input signal is coupled via a capacitor to a base of a transistor which consitutes a differential amplifier with another transistor. The base of the transistors are repectively fed with first and second predetermined voltages via a pair of of transistors so that the differential amplifier produces an output signal proportional to the difference between the peak value of the input signal and a predetermined value only when the peak to peak value of the input signal exceeds a predeteremined voltage.
