The present invention relates to an absorbent body for an absorbent article, such as a diaper, an incontinence guard or a sanitary napkin, comprising a layer (2, 3) of absorbent material on which there is laid a layer (4, 5) of particles of so-called superabsorbent material. According to the invention, the particle layer includes a pattern of through- penetrating openings (8, 9). The invention also relates to an arrangement for manufacturing such an absorbent body.
