There is provided a new and useful alarm system for use on a school bus having an ignition switch, a master switch, a rear door switch, the alarm system comprises a plurality of electromechanical circuits arranged so as to effect a resting state in which the system is inoperable, a stand-by state activated by actuating the ignition switch, a latching state from which the system may be armed, an armed state in which the system is operable, alarm means to indicate an alarm state, and a disarmed state in which the system is deactivated. There is also provided deactivation means positioned at a rear of the bus to deactivate the alarm system while in the armed state or the alarm state, wherein the alarm system is integral with the ignition switch, the master switch and the door switch of the bus.
L'invention porte sur un système d'alarme nouveau et utile à installer dans un autobus scolaire comportant un contacteur, un commutateur principal et un interrupteur de porte arrière. Le système d'alarme comprend une série de circuits électromécaniques reliés de façon à permettre un état de repos dans lequel le système ne fonctionne pas, un état d'attente activé par le contacteur, un état de verrouillage à partir duquel le système peut être mis en service, un état de mise en service dans lequel le système fonctionne, des éléments d'alarme indiquant un état d'alarme, et un état de mise hors service dans lequel le système est déconnecté. L'invention prévoit également un élément de mise hors service placé à l'arrière de l'autobus et permettant de déconnecter le système d'alarme lorsque ce dernier est en état de mise en service ou en état d'alarme. De plus, le système d'alarme est intégral au contacteur, au commutateur principal et à l'interrupteur de porte arrière de l'autobus.
