Description

An anti-theft means for vehicle steering mechanism, such as a steering shaft or a transmission rod, having a rotatable shaft. The anti-theft means comprises a fixing member fixed on the vehicle body, a connecting member joined with a steering handle, a locking means controlled by code device, a movable member provided on the rotatable shaft, for moving along said shaft but not rotatable around it. The movable member can move between a first position and a second position under the control of the locking means. When in the first position, the movable member is engaged with the fixing member while disengaged with the connecting member so that the shaft can not rotate. When in the second position, the movable member is engaged with the connecting member while disengaged with the fixing member so that the shaft can rotate. The anti-theft means according to the invention has double functions of disconnecting transmission of steering force as well as locking the shaft.

L'invention concerne un mécanisme antivol qui s'utilise dans un mécanisme de direction, tel qu'un arbre de direction ou un arbre de transmission. Ce mécanisme antivol comprend un élément de montage servant à fixer ledit dispositif antivol sur le châssis du véhicule; un élément d'assemblage relié à des dispositifs de commande; un élément de blocage commandé par un dispositif de codage et un élément mobile placé de manière coulissante, mais non rotative sur l'arbre ou sur le levier de changement de vitesses ou encore sur tout autre organe de transmission. L'élément mobile peut se déplacer entre des première et seconde positions commandé par l'élément de blocage. Dans la première position, ledit élément mobile et ledit élément de montage prennent prise, tout en se séparant de l'élément d'assemblage. Dans la seconde position, l'élément mobile et l'élément d'assemblage prennent prise, tout en se séparant de l'élément de montage de manière à permettre la rotation de l'arbre. La structure du mécanisme antivol est simple, d'où un coût de fabrication bas. L'invention est caractérisée en ce qu'elle présente une double fonction, à savoir la déconnexion de la transmission de la force de direction et le blocage de l'arbre.
