An apparatus for the display of geographical information including: -a remote communication device including a display and having a global positioning system adapted to provide information about the position of said device and transmit it to a remote location; and a remote database including geographical data wherein said device transmits to said database its current position abd said database transmits to said device geographical information in relation to that position, said information subsequently being displayed on said device display.
L'invention concerne un appareil destiné à l'affichage d'informations géographiques, comprenant un dispositif de communication à distance équipé d'un écran et d'un système mondial de localisation conçu pour fournir des informations de position relatives audit dispositif et transmettre ces informations à un emplacement situé à distance, et une base de données à distance renfermant des données géographiques. Ce dispositif de communication transmet sa position réelle à la base de données qui à son tour transmet les informations géographiques relatives à cette position au dispositif, les informations étant par la suite affichées sur l'écran.
