An apparatus for filtering liquids comprises a hollow body (1) which is rotatable about a horizontal axis (6). Liquid to be filtered is supplied into the interior of the rotating hollow body whereby filtrate flows by gravity through filter material (2) of the hollow body into a filtrate container (22). A sealing means (14) seals between a stationary circumferential wall (13), which defines a liquid supplying chamber (12), and a circumferential liquid impervious wall (8) of the hollow body. Wall means (8, 20a) are arranged to prevent unfiltered liquid leaking past the sealing means from entering the filtrate container.

L'invention concerne un appareil de filtration de liquides comprenant un corps creux (1) pouvant tourner autour d'un axe horizontal (6). Le liquide à filtrer est amené à l'intérieur du corps creux rotatif, le filtrat s'écoulant par gravité dans la matière filtrante (2) du corps creux pour pénétrer dans un récipient (22). Un élément d'étanchéité (14) crée une étanchéité entre une paroi circulaire fixe (13) qui forme une chambre (12) d'alimentation en liquide et une paroi circulaire (8) imperméable au liquide du corps creux.
