An apparatus for measuring an internal dimension of a well-bore comprising a tool (1) adapted to be positioned inside the well bore. The tool comprises an optical caliper (312) comprising an optical sensor providing a response correlated to the internal dimension of the well bore, the optical sensor being coupled to an optical fiber (311A).
