The invention provides an apparatus and a process for the high pressure polymerization of ethylene, optionally with one or more comonomers, in which unreacted monomer is separated from the polymer in a separation system having at least first, second and third separation vessels and in which off gas from the second vessel is recombined back into the product mixture upstream of the first separation vessel, preferably using a jet pump.

L'invention propose un appareil et un procédé de polymérisation haute pression de l'éthylène, facultativement avec un ou plusieurs comonomères, dans lequel le monomère n'ayant pas réagi est séparé du polymère dans un système de séparation doté d'au moins un premier, un second et un troisième récipients de séparation et dans lequel un gaz de sortie provenant du second récipient est recombiné dans le mélange de produit en amont du premier récipient de séparation, de préférence à l'aide d'une pompe à jet.
