An apparatus is provided for transmitting rotation about and translation along a first axis (145) from a driver (60) to a toolholder with a spindle (130) along an axis (230) non-parallel from the first axis. A shaft ( 180) is rotatably mounted within a sleeve (150) which is slidably mounted with- in a bore along the first axis. The sleeve has an inclined sur- face (165) at one end which when the sleeve is translated en- gages an interface member (170) to provide displacement.
