An aqueous neutral to mildly alkaline metal bicarbonate solution is disclosed. The solution comprises metal bicarbonate dissolved in the solution, the metal bicarbonate comprising bicarbonate anions and metal cations. In addition there is a pH adjusting agent in the solution in an amount whereby the solution is at a neutral to mildly alkaline pH. Also disclosed is a process of preparing an aqueous neutral to mildly alkaline metal bicarbonate solution comprising bicarbonate anions and metal cations. The process comprises reacting a compound selected from the group consisting of metal carbonate, metal carbonate hydroxide, metal oxide, metal hydroxide and any mixture thereof with an effective concentration of a pH adjusting agent to produce the aqueous neutral to mildly alkaline metal bicarbonate solution, wherein the pH adjusting agent is present in an amount whereby the solution is at a neutral to mildly alkaline pH. Further disclosed are a method of preventing and/or treating certain inflammatory diseases and/or degenerative diseases in a mammal, a method of preventing and/or treating certain viral diseases in a mammal, a method of decreasing and/or treating senescence and/or of increasing longevity in a mammal, a method of scavenging protons in a mammal, a method of decreasing proton concentrations in a mammal by altering carbonic anhydrase enzyme reactions in said mammal, a method of decreasing inflammation and/or inflammatory conditions in a mammal and a method of increasing motor activity and/or decreasing fatigue in a mammal.
Cette solution aqueuse de bicarbonate de métal neutre à légèrement alcaline contient un bicarbonate de métal en solution à anions bicarbonate et cations métaux. La solution contient en outre un correcteur d'acidité dosé pour réaliser un pH neutre à légèrement alcalin en solution. L'invention concerne également un procédé pour préparer une solution aqueuse de bicarbonate de métal neutre à légèrement alcaline à anions bicarbonate et cations métaux. Ce procédé consiste à faire réagir un composé du groupe des carbonates de métal, hydroxydes de carbonate de métaux, oxydes de métaux, hydroxydes de métaux et tous mélanges de ces derniers, avec un correcteur d'acidité en concentration suffisante pour produire une solution aqueuse du bicarbonate de métal qui soit neutre à légèrement alcaline, le correcteur étant présent à raison d'une quantité propre à conférer à une solution un pH neutre à légèrement alcalin. L'invention porte par ailleurs sur un procédé permettant de prévenir et/ou traiter certaines maladies inflammatoires et/ou dégénératives des mammifères, un procédé permettant de prévenir et/ou traiter certaines maladies virales chez les mammifères, un procédé permettant de diminuer et/ou traiter la sénescence et/ou accroître la longévité des mammifères, un procédé permettant de piéger les protons chez les mammifères, un procédé permettant d'atténuer les concentrations de protons chez les mammifères en modifiant les réactions enzymatiques de l'anhydrase carbonique chez les mammifères, un procédé permettant de lutter contre les inflammations et/ou les états inflammatoires chez les mammifères et un procédé permettant d'accroître l'activité motrice et/ou diminuer la fatigue chez les mammifères.
