The armrest particularly suitable to be used in armchairs used at work comprises an element (1) which supports the arm of the user and which is mounted on a box-like element (3), the latter being movable in a longitudinal direction, also in an angular direction on a horizontal plane and also on a vertical plane. The box-like element (3) is elastically held by spring (8) to adhere to the requirements of the user, for instance if the user works on a computer or other apparatuses which require different positioning of the arm of the user in one instance or another instance.
