An assembly of a milk tank and a measuring probe, the milk tank being provided with a space for containing milk and with a wall having a manhole portion defining a manhole, which manhole comprises a rim that extends in a direction away from the space, the measuring probe being located at least partially in t:he space of the milk tank, the assembly comprising a fastening device for fastening the measuring probe to at least a part of the manhole portion, and the fastening device being provided with at least one radial protrusion that comprises a recess for receiving, in the assembled position of fastening device and milk tank, at least a part of the rim of the manhole portion.
