An assembly (8) of an end-fitting (9) and a flexible pressure pipe (1) which is of a non-bonded structure and comprises a number of layers (2, 3, 4, 5, 7) including at least one layer (5) having a number of helically wound flat metallic tensile armour wires (6) with end parts which, in the assembled condition, are embedded in an anchor (23) consisting of a casting material such as epoxy which is injected into a cavity formed in the end-fitting. The flat wire end parts have at least one twist (25) turning generally around the centreline of the wire. Said twists lock the tensile armour wires firmly in the anchor and therefore provide a greater resistance to axial tensile loads acting on the assembly than has been known before. Furthermore the joint is a simple and cheap structure and can be made in situ.

Ensemble (8) constitué d'un raccord d'extrémité (9) et d'un tuyau souple sous pression (1), de structure non liée et comportant plusieurs couches (2, 3, 4, 5, 7), dont au moins une (5) présente plusieurs fils métalliques d'armature et de tension méplats (6), enroulés en hélice et dont les parties d'extrémité, dans la position assemblée, sont noyées dans un élément d'ancrage (23) en matériau de coulée, comme de l'époxy, qui est injecté dans une cavité formée dans le raccord d'extrémité. Les parties d'extrémité du fil méplat présentent au moins une torsade (25) tournant généralement autour de sa ligne centrale. Lesdites torsades bloquent solidement les fils d'armature et de tension dans l'élément d'ancrage et confèrent une résistance plus élevée aux efforts de traction axiaux agissant sur l'ensemble. De plus, le joint est une structure simple et bon marché et peut être fabriqué in situ.
