There is provided an autoclave (10) having a door (12) hingedly connected (at 13) to a vessel portion (11). A catch member (34) is provided for locking the door and the vessel portion, the catch member being biassed by spring (38) towards a locking position. The catch member is movable, preferably using a solenoid (36), out of said locking position.

On décrit un autoclave (10), lequel présente une porte (12) reliée en (13), au moyen de charnières, à une portion de l'enceinte (11). On a monté un loquet (34), lequel est destiné au verrouillage de la porte et de ladite portion d'enceinte et est sollicité par un ressort (38) pour être mis dans une position verrouillante de laquelle il peut être déplacé, de préférence au moyen d'un solénoïde.
