This invention is a method for greatly increasing the power from a windmill The essential elements of the method are an air flow entering a nozzle leading to the propeller or fan of a windmill. The nozzle is shaped to converge so as to bring about an isentropic increase in the flow velocity through the nozzle, which may if desired reach sonic speed. The process is isentropic so that no extra energy is needed and no work is done. The velocity increases are typically 30 or more to one so that the power increases are over 900 times those of a conventionally operated windmill. These power increases are accompanied by a great reduction in overall size and cost of the windmill apparatus needed. The method can also be employed from a moving platform such as a moving car, train, airplane, ship or other moving vehicle.
