The present invention relates to processes for the conversion of nitriles to amidines in the preparation of compounds which are antagonists of the platelet glycoprotein IIb/IIIa fibrinogen receptor complex. The compounds described herein are potent thrombolytics and useful for the inhibition of platelet aggregation in the treatment of thromboembolic disorders.
L'invention concerne des procédés qui permettent de convertir des nitriles en amidines dans la préparation de composés antagonistes vis-à-vis du complexe récepteur de fibrinogène IIb/IIIa de glycoprotéine plaquettaire. Les composés considérés constituent de puissants agents thrombolytiques et sont utiles pour inhiber l'agrégation plaquettaire dans le traitement des désordres thromboemboliques.
