Data is transmitted in a multiple FSK format, with one or more out-of-band pilots. In the receiver, the sampled signal is transformed from time domain to frequency domain (by means of a DFT). The correlation between each of the possible data tones and the pilots tones is calculated and used for the data decision. The proposed receiver is suitable for use in radio paging systems, in particular those systems involving satellite transmission.
