A watergel explosive composition is described which contains an oxidiser salt, a sensitiser, a thickener, a crosslinking agent, a fuel and less than 8 %, by mass, of the composition of water. The explosive composition is cap sensitive in packages or cartridges having a diameter of about 26 mm or less at temperatures below about 5 ·C when detonated with a standard number 6 strength detonator. The explosive composition does not require a supplementary sensitisor or a perchlorate salt to achieve this cap sensitivity. A method of producing the explosive composition by separately preparing a thickened aqueous phase and a dry phase, and allowing the thickened phase to stand for a period of time before the mixing of the two phases, as well as explosive paper cartridge containing the watergel explosive composition, are also described.
L'invention concerne une composition de bouillie explosive contenant un sel oxydant, un activateur, un épaississant, un agent de réticulation, un combustible et moins de 8 % en volume d'eau. Cette composition explosive est sensible au détonateur dans des emballages ou dans des cartouches, dont le diamètre est égal ou inférieur à 26 mm environ, à des températures inférieures à 5 ~C, quand on la met à feu au moyen d'un détonateur standard de force numéro 6. Il n'est pas nécessaire un activateur ou de sel perchlorate supplémentaire pour que la composition présente cette sensibilité au détonateur. L'invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication de la composition explosive, qui consiste à préparer séparément une phase aqueuse épaissie et une phase sèche et à laisser reposer la phase épaissie pendant une certaine durée préalablement au mélange des deux phases, ainsi qu'une cartouche explosive en papier contenant ladite composition de bouillie explosive.
