A method and system of dual wavefield reinforcement or increasing the contributions to each image point in the seismic image can be accomplished by aligning the upward traveling energy, U, and the downward traveling energy, D, and then summing U and D in the stacking process. A method of dual wavefield reinforcement includes receiving seismic data having both up going and down going wavefields. Pre-NMO and post NMO statics for each of said up going and said down going wavefields are calculated. The NMO/DMO stacking velocities for the seismic data on the up going wavefield floating datum and the down going wavefield floating datum are determined. The determined pre NMO statics, the NMO/DMO stacking velocities and the post NMO statics are applied to bring each of the up going and the down going wavefields to the final datum. The up going and the down going wavefields are summed to provide dual wavefield reinforcement.
L'invention porte sur un procédé et sur un système de consolidation de champs d'ondes doubles ou d'augmentation des contributions à chaque point d'image de l'image sismique par alignement de l'énergie ascendante, U, et de l'énergie descendante, D, puis addition de U et de D par empilement. Le procédé de consolidation des champs d'ondes doubles consiste à recevoir des données sismiques à champs d'ondes ascendants et descendants; calculer les ondes statiques pré NMO et post NMO pour chacun des champs d'ondes ascendants et descendants; déterminer les vitesses d'empilement NMO/DMO se rapportant aux données sismiques concernant les données de flottement des champs d'ondes ascendants et descendants; appliquer les ondes statiques pré NMO déterminées, les vitesses d'empilement NMO/DMO et les ondes statiques post NMO pour aboutir à la donnée finale à partir de chacun des champs d'ondes ascendants et descendants; et enfin totaliser les champs d'ondes ascendants et descendants pour obtenir une consolidation des champs d'ondes doubles.
