The invention disclosed relates to an improved solvent extraction/soil remediation process for the concurrent removal of hydrocarbon contaminants, and fixation of heavy metals. The heavy metals can then be removed by leaching. The improvements include selecting the metal fixation agent for improved hydrocarbon extraction efficiency, and reducing the number of extraction stages to four or five by breaking down and reforming the soil agglomerates between stages.

L'invention divulguée concerne un procédé amélioré d'extraction par solvant/ remise en état du sol permettant simultanément l'élimination des hydrocarbures contaminants et la fixation des métaux lourds. Les métaux lourds peuvent ensuite être éliminés par lixiviation. L'amélioration comprend le choix de l'agent de fixation des métaux pour une efficacité améliorée de l'extraction des hydrocarbures et la réduction du nombre d'étapes d'extraction à quatre ou cinq par décomposition et reformage des agglomérats de sol entre les étapes.
