This invention relates to open-angle seats for chairs. More particularly, a seat for a chair is provided wherein the seat provides independent support to both a person's sit bones and thighs. The seat comprises a first support surface (64), with the first support surface being generally planar and adapted to support a person seated on the seat at the sit bones. A second support surface (72) is also provided, with the second support surface being generally planar and adapted to support the person seated on the seat at the thighs. The plane of the first support surface and the plane of the second support surface intersect sot that when the first support surface is generally horizontal, the second support surface extends generally forwardly and downwardly with respect to the first support surface.

L'invention se rapporte à des fonds de siège à angle ouvert pour sièges. Elle se rapporte plus particulièrement à un fond de siège fournissant un support indépendant à la fois aux cuisses d'une personne et aux os en contact avec le fond de siège lorsque ladite personne est en position assise.
