The present invention provides a process for crosslinking of polyallylamine hydrochloride wherein an aqueous solution of polyallylamine hydrochloride is partly neutralized with alkali and epichlorohydrin is added. The aqueous solution is dispersed in an organic medium containing a surfactant. This leads to gelation in individual droplets. The crosslinking in individual gel beads is completed by raising the temperature. The resulting beads are then separated, washed with water, treated with an organic solvent and dried. The method maximizes the yield of crosslinked polyallylamine hydrochloride particles in the range 60 - 100 mesh.
L~invention concerne un procédé de réticulation d~hydrochlorure de polyallylamine, selon lequel une solution aqueuse d~hydrochlorure de polyallylamine est en partie neutralisée par l~addition d~alcali et d~épichlorohydrine. La solution aqueuse est dispersée dans un milieu organique contenant un tensioactif. Il se forme un gel en gouttelettes individuelles. On achève la réticulation en perles de gel individuelles en augmentant la température. Les perles obtenues sont ensuite séparées, lavées à l~eau, traitées avec un solvant organique et séchées. La méthode permet de maximiser le rendement en particules d~hydrochlorure de polyallylamine réticulé dans une gamme de 60 - 100 mesh.
