An inhaler comprises a tubular body in which an air flow passage is defined. A single dose of an active, inhaleable, particulate substance is arranged within the air flow passage and is sealed or closed in relation to the ambient atmosphere by closure means, such as removable caps, a section of the flow passage extending from a free mouthpiece end of the tubular body along a major part of the total length of the flow passage is preferably 7-35 mm2, for example about 20 mm2. The inhaler may be adapted to be used only once, and the tubular body of the inhaler may be a length of a simple tube similar to a drinking straw.

Inhalateur formé d'un corps tubulaire creux permettant le passage de l'air. Une dose unique d'une substance particulaire active inhalable est placée à l'intérieur du tube et est scellée ou isolée de l'air ambiant au moyen de dispositifs de fermeture, comme des bouchons amovibles, le diamètre entre l'extémité libre de l'embout buccal du corps tubulaire et une grande partie de la longueur totale du tube laissant passer l'air est compris entre 7 et 35 mm2, par exemple 20 mm2 environ. L'inhalateur peut être à utilisation unique, et le corps tubulaire de l'appareil peut correspondre à la longueur d'un simple tube similaire à une paille.
