This invention relates to an ink composition comprising synthetic pigment particles, a carrier and a binder, the synthetic pigment particles having a particle size from 0.02 to 0.20 microns, with at least 90 percent of said particles having diameters less than 0.1 micron. The invention also relates to a method of printing images onto a substrate. The method comprises ink jet printing onto the substrate the ink composition of the present invention and subsequently subjecting the substrate to a temperature of at least 260 ~C (500 ~F).
L'invention concerne une composition d'encre comprenant des particules de pigment synthétique, un support et un liant, les particules de pigment synthétique présentant une granulométrie comprise entre 0,02 et 0,20 microns, au moins 90 pourcent desdites particules présentant des diamètres inférieurs à 0,1 micron. L'invention concerne également un procédé d'impression d'images sur un substrat. Le procédé consiste à effectuer une impression par jet d'encre sur le substrat à l'aide de la composition d'encre de l'invention, puis à soumettre le substrat à une température d'au moins 260 ~C (500 ~F).
