The installation further comprises an intermediate assembly (10, 14) having a first end fitted with means for airtight coupling to the portable delivery head and a second end connected to the sand box. The intermediate assembly can form part of the equipment of a rail vehicle, or alternatively it can form part of the equipment of a platform.
