A shaft seal/position sensor module assembly includes a carrier body that is mountable on a shaft housing about an opening through which a rotatable shaft extends. A sleeve is mountable on the shaft and carries a multi-pole encoder ring having a radially outwardly facing sensor surface. A magneto-resistive sensor is mounted on said carrier body in position to communicate with said sensor surface of said encoder ring.

L'invention concerne un ensemble module joint d'arbre/capteur de position comprenant un dispositif de support pouvant être monté sur le logement d'un arbre autour d'une ouverture à travers laquelle s'étend un arbre rotatif. Un manchon peut être monté sur l'arbre et comprend un anneau de codage multipolaire présentant une surface de détection orientée radialement vers l'extérieur. Un capteur magnéto-résistant est monté aur ledit dispositif de support en position de communication avec ladite surface de détection de l'anneau de codage.
