An on-demand method of routing data between a plurality of local peer groups (LPG). Each LPG includes a plurality of moving nodes. The method comprises transmitting a route request message from a source node, relaying the route request message to a native boundary node; forwarding the route request message to a foreign boundary node, determining if the destination node is within an LPG for the foreign boundary node; relaying the route request message to another boundary node if the destination node is not within the LPG, relaying the route request message to the destination node if the destination node is within the LPG, receiving the routing request message at the destination node, transmitting a routing response to the source node, relaying the routing response to the source node through a path discovered by the route request, receiving the routing response at the source node, and transmitting the data.

L'invention concerne un procédé à la demande de routage de données entre une pluralité de groupes de pairs locaux (LPG). Chaque groupe LPG comprend une pluralité de noeuds mobiles. Le procédé consiste : à transmettre un message de requête de route en provenance d'un noeud source; à retransmettre le message de requête de route à un noeud frontière natif; à réacheminer le message de requête de route vers un noeud frontière étranger; à déterminer si le noeud cible se trouve à l'intérieur d'un groupe LPG pour le noeud frontière étranger; à retransmettre le message de requête de route à un autre noeud frontière si le noeud cible ne se trouve pas à l'intérieur du groupe LPG; à retransmettre le message de requête de route au noeud cible si ledit noeud cible se trouve à l'intérieur du groupe LPG; à recevoir le message de requête de route au niveau du noeud cible; à transmettre une réponse de routage au noeud source; à retransmettre la réponse de routage au noeud source par un chemin découvert par la requête de route; à recevoir la réponse de routage au niveau du noeud source; et à transmettre les données.
