This invention relates to compositions for improving fuel efficiency in internal combustion engines. The composition comprises a lubricant having an oil of lubricating viscosity and (A) a compound represented by the formula (see fig. I) wherein in Formula (A-I), R1, R2, R3 and R4 are independently hydrocarbyl groups, X1 and X2 are independently O or S, and n is zero to 3; and (B) an acylated nitrogen-containing compound having a substituent of at least 10 aliphatic carbon atoms. In one embodiment, the inventive composition further comprises (C) a second phosphorus compound other than (A), said second phosphorus compound being a phosphorus acid, phosphorus acid ester, phosphorus acid salt, or derivative thereof. In one embodiment, the inventive composition further comprises (D) an alkali or alkaline earth metal salt of an organic sulfur acid, carboxylic acid or phenol. In one embodiment, the inventive composition further comprises (E) a thiocarbamate. These compositions are useful in providing lubricating compositions and functional fluids with enhanced fuel efficiency properties.
La présente invention concerne des compositions pour réduire la consommation de carburant des moteurs à combustion interne. La composition comprend un lubrifiant constitué d'une huile de viscosité appropriée pour la lubrification et A) un composé représenté par la formule (voir fig. I) où, dans la formule (A-I), R1, R2, R3 et R4 sont indépendamment les uns des autres des groupes hydrocarbyle, X1 et X2 sont indépendamment l'un de l'autre O ou S et n varie de zéro à 3; et B) un composé acylé contenant de l'azote portant un substituant aliphatique d'au moins 10 atomes de carbone. Dans une application, la composition issue de l'invention comprend en outre C) un second composé du phosphore autre que A), ledit second composé du phosphore étant un acide de phosphore, un ester de phosphore, un sel d'un acide de phosphore ou un dérivé de ces derniers. Dans une autre application, la composition issue de l'invention comprend en outre D) un sel de métal alcalin ou de métal alcalino-terreux d'un acide de soufre organique, d'un acide carboxylique ou d'un phénol. Dans une autre application, la composition issue de l'invention comprend en outre E) un thiocarbamate. Ces compositions sont utiles comme lubrifiantes et liquides fonctionnels ayant des propriétés améliorées pour ce qui est de l'économie de carburant.
