An apparatus for demultiplexing a wavelength division multiplexed optical signal includes a plurality of wavelength channels each having a different signal wavelength. The apparatus includes a signal port (1) and a plurality of grating modules (2). Each grating module has a coupler (3) and a fiber Bragg grating (4) which has a unique wavelength. The grating modules each have an input port (5), an optical tap (6), and an output port (7). The grating modules are configured in a row (8) having a first end (9) and a second end (10). This is accomplished by connecting the output port of each grating module to the input port of another grating module. The first end of the row of grating modules is connected to the signal port. The Bragg gratings reflect different signal wavelengths.

Cet appareil permettant de démultiplexer un signal optique multiplexé en longueur d'onde comporte plusieurs canaux de longueur d'onde ayant chacun une longueur d'onde de signal différente. Cet appareil comporte un port de signal (1) et plusieurs modules à réseau de diffraction (2), chacun de ceux-ci possédant un coupleur (3) et un réseau de Bragg à fibres (4) n'ayant qu'une seule longueur d'onde. Chaque module est pourvu d'un port d'entrée (5), d'une connexion optique (6) et d'un port de sortie (7). Ces modules sont agencés en une rangée (8) comprenant une première (9) et une seconde (10) extrémités. On obtient cette configuration en connectant le port de sortie de chaque module à réseau de diffraction au port d'entrée d'un autre module. La première extrémité de la rangée de modules est connectée au port de signal. Les réseaux de Bragg réfléchissent des longueurs d'onde de signaux différentes.
