ABSTRACT Benzofuran-7-carboxamides, and related compounds, and more particularly, pyrrolidinyl derivatives thereof, have been found to exhibit analgesic activity. Accordingly, there is provided a use of an analgesic effective amount of a compound of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for treating algesia. Image (I) There is also provided a method for the treatment of algesia, comprising administering to a patient in need of such treatment, an analgesic effective amount of a compound of the formula (I).
