Analog Controller With Digital Configuration ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Active magnetic bearing systems are commonly used to support the shaft assemblies of rotary machines. In active magnetic bearing systems, it is necessary to employ a control system which provides a control signal in response to shaft motion. By changing the characteristics of the control system, the response of the magnetic bearings to movement of the shaft may be varied. This invention provides a means of changing the characteristics of an analog control system in accordance with digital configuration inputs.
