A B S T R A C T The invention relates to a device for encoding and remotely transmitting information concerning the position and the direction of rotation of a rotary element. This device comprises an encoder driven by sensors suitable for producing an analog signal whose amplitude varies on each change of state of each sensor by an amount that depends on which sensor changes state. The invention is applicable to electricity meters.
