An anaesthetic system (10) is disclosed with a mass spectrometer (11) for simultaneously determining levels of oxygen, anaesthetic gas and nitrogen in the positive pressure gas. The composition of the inspiratory gas and expiratory gas is determined by the mass spectrometer (11) and forwarded as a measurement signal to a control unit (12) such as a computer, allowing the anaesthetic system to be automated.

L'invention concerne un système d'anesthésie (10) comprenant un spectromètre de masse (11) pour déterminer simultanément la quantité d'oxygène, de gaz anesthésique et d'azote dans un gaz respiratoire. La composition gazeuse contenant un gaz d'inspiration et un gaz d'expiration, est mesurée par le spectromètre de masse (11) et envoyée à une unité de commande (12) comme, par exemple, un ordinateur sous la forme d'un signal de mesure. Le système d'anesthésie (10) peut ainsi être automatisée.
