A method is provided that conveniently allows rapid amplification of nucleic acids. Two different heat sources are used to heat the reaction mixture. An embodiment of the invention provides a method for implication of nucleic acids comprising the steps of: (a) providing a mixture of a liquid containing the nucleic acids and solid particles having a higher absorption capability for a first energy source than the liquid, the mixture containing the reagents necessary for amplifying the nucleic acids, and (b) introducing the first energy in pulses of between 0.001 and 10 sec for a time sufficient to achieve heating of the solid particles to a temperature of more than 90°C, wherein the liquid is actively kept at annealing and extension temperature.
