ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Containers, e.g., test tubes, useful in immunochemical (and especially radioimmunoassay) and enzymatical determinations and procedures are provided. Such containers comprise two parts, i.e., a lower reactive part and an inert upper part detachably connected to this lower reactive part. The lower reactive part acts as a carrier for a biologically active material, such as an antigen, antibody, or enzyme, which is present as a uniform coating on the lower reactive part of the container. Such a reactive part is fashioned out of particular polymeric materials and the biologically active material is chemically coupled to an inert protein base coating which serves to affix the biologically active substance to the polymeric reactive part of the containers. Containers fabricated in accordance with the present invention provide biologically active materials in a surprisingly stable and convenient form for use in bioanalytical procedures requiring such materials.
