ANATOMICAL COMPRESSION DEVICE ABSTRACT An anatomical compression device including a flexible, expand- ible envelope (14) which contains a pair of chemical agents (28, 30) which form a gas when mixed. In use, the envelope (14) encircles a body part, such as an injured limb, and the chemical agents (28, 30) are mixed by manual manipulation of the envelope (14), creating a gas which expands the envelope (14) and exerts a compressive force on the limb. The compression device can serve as a splint for broken bones, as a pressure dressing for the control of bleeding, or as a treatment device for minimizing the effect of snake venom on a snake bite vic- tim.
