- 9 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An anchor bolt comprising an elongate shank having an first end adapted to be internally anchored in a drilled hole by a securing system and first and second threaded sections formed adjacent the other exposed end of the shank. The threaded sections are separated by an non-threaded section of the shank. A threaded torquing member is engageable on the first threaded section to contact the non-threaded section and acts to rotate the shank within the drilled hole for retention by the securing system. The non-threaded section of shank prevents movement of the torquing member along the shank from the first threaded section to the second threaded section until a preselected torque is exerted on the torquing member greater than the torque sufficient to anchor the shank by the securing means. The anchor bolt eliminates damaged threads at the exposed end of the shank for applying a retaining mesh, plate or other equipment.
