"ANCHOR HOLDING CAPACITY INDICATOR" Abstract of the Invention The holding capacity of an earth anchor is determined as the earth anchor is being driven into soil by sensing a parameter related to the torque required of the motor to drive the earth anchor into the soil, by determining, from the sensed parameter and from the characteristics of the motor, the torque required of the motor to drive the earth anchor into the soil, and by determining, from the torque required of the motor to drive the earth anchor into the soil and from the type of earth anchor being driven into the soil, the holding capacity of the earth anchor.
