An anchoring system for use with improved water closets. The anchoring system attaches to a floor drain concealing mounting bolts within the toilet bowl structure. The system employs a base screw placed in an inverted position for engagement to a floor flange. A gudgeon coupling is then threaded onto the base screw so as to provide an upwardly facing boss on the floor flange. An elongated bolt is then used to secure the toilet bowl to the boss. A threaded receptacle formed on the end of elongated bolt allows insertion of finishing screws to secure a seat and cover to the toilet bowl.
