ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A water closet is anchored to the floor by a pair of tie rods internally mounted inside the peripheral shroud of the closet. The tie rods extend in a pair of channels extending from a rim plate adjacent the drain pipe and a rim member on the surface of the water closet. A T-shaped hook is pivotally fixed to the lower end of the tie rods and are adapted to slide into slots provided in the rim plate. The upper end of the tie rods are threaded in internally threaded sleeves abutting against the upper surface of the water closet. A seat assembly is adapted to be fixed to the upper end of the tie rods.
