ANCHORING APPARATUS FOR A BRACE MEMBER FOR SUPPORTING A WALL AND METHOD FOR USE OF THE SAME ABSTRACT This invention includes an anchoring apparatus for anchoring one or more elongated diagonal brace members used to temporarily support a vertical wall relative to the ground during construction and a method for using the anchoring apparatus. The anchoring apparatus comprises a base member including substantially flat base plate having upper and lower surfaces, with the lower surface cooperating with the ground at a location spaced from the wall, and further including a means for securing the flat plate to the ground to prevent sliding. The anchoring apparatus further includes a swivel pocket pivotally attached to the base member and sized to slidably receive construction lumber readily available on a building site.
