An anchoring device (1) consists of a pedicle screw (3) with a U-shaped holder (5). By means of a support (8, 16) having a rotational axis (9) positioned in the holder (5), a support rod (2) is positioned in such manner that it can pivot. A positioning element (12) is housed positively on the rod (2). Said element (12) has a surface (13) that has a radius R to rotational axis (9) when the positioning element (12) is slid necessarily to the pre-determined correct position. A nut (14) is screwed on threaded segments on the jaws (6,6') of the U- shaped holder (5), and by means of its bottom edge initially necessarily brings the positioning element (12) into the correct position on the axis (1); when turned again, it fixes the rod (2) and the pedicle screw (3) so that no undesired stresses occur. The device (1) is used in osteosynthesis, particularly for stabilizing vertebral column segments.
