The gravity pump has a rotatable cylindrical rotor, and a radial array of cylinder and piston arrangements mounted inside that rotor. A rotatable cylindrical sleeve encloses the rotor and the pistons for limiting outward movements of the pistons. The sleeve has an inside diameter that is larger than an outside diameter of the rotor. The sleeve is enclosed in a rotatable cylindrical casing. The rotor has a hollow core along an axis of rotation thereof and a longitudinal partition separating the hollow core into a pressure chamber and a return chamber. The rotor is rotatable while the partition remains fixed. The cylinders on one side of the partition have conduits communicating with the pressure chamber, and the cylinders on the other side have conduits communicating with the return chamber. Ports are provided for guiding a flow of hydraulic fluid out of the pressure chamber and back into the return chamber.
