Description

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This application discloses a unilimb device, of univer- sal application to different types of breathing systems. The device comprises two gas carrying tubes, one within the other, the corresponding ends of the tubes being within two common terminal elements. One of the terminal elements provides for two separate passages, each being connectable, one to a source of gas, and the other for disposition of the expiratory gases. The other terminal element includes a nozzle end for connection to the inlet for the patient's respiratory system, with the opposite end serving to receive the other ends of the two flex- ible tubes and to provide short passages to the nozzle to mini- mize dead air space. Provision may be made for telescoping each terminal element, and the inlet element may be provided with a member for extending or adapting it to different breath- ing systems.
