In a motor designed to convert linear force into rotational force, the "Angels' Cradle" variations utilize the fact that the fixed shaft wheel train on one side of a falling wheel assembly sends its feedback cycle to wheels near the shaft core of the central shaft assembly, while the fixed shaft wheel train on its other side sends its feedback cycle to a more distant wheel radius on the central, 'falling' wheel assembly. The five main shafts are named in order: alpha, earth, angel, moon, and omega. Only the angel shaft is able to travel slightly, while the other four are fixed. In effect, the angel wheels hang/suspend on its gear wheels, and on its sprockets, from adjacent gears/sprockets by their intermeshing teeth, and from relay sprockets above and below them by sprocket chain. The alpha shaft carries the gear to sprocket ratio key that is large:small, while the omega shaft carries a gear to sprocket ratio key that is small:large; the angel shaft carries both ratio keys in its gears and sprockets. Thus, there is little distance between the small (gear and sprocket) angel wheels and the fixed moon wheels, while on the earth side of the angel assembly, there is significantly more distance The resulting discrepancy between the suspension distance from one side of the central [angel] assembly, to the suspension distance of its other side [i.e. the cradle gap], and the force differential that is caused-as expressed in the mass of the flywheels and other elements on the angel shaft, and the angel shaft itself (all of which are out of alignment with the apparent center of gravity)- are together enough to overcome frictional, and other inertial forces inherent in the whole train of wheels, and to cause the Angel set of wheels to 'rock' perpetually toward the 'moon,' never to achieve stasis until the imposed force against the angel set is withdrawn. A drag wheel may also be imposed on one or both of the flywheels to add speed to whatever takeoff/work device relates to it. This motor does not require fuel (nor even gravity) in order to operate, but only force- whether natural or contrived*, from over and/or under the wheel train, and at right angles to the equatorial of the main, five-shaft train-upon the central shaft and wheel assembly. It can operate in virtually any medium, and in any positional attitude. * Gravity, leverage, block and tackle, pneumatic, hydraulic, thermal expansion/contraction, and/or counter weights, are among the forms of imposed force that may be employed against the angel shaft, directly, or via leveraging arms (as is illustrated in this particular application).
