A newly found pharmacological effect of a cysteine derivative of strongly inhibiting angiogenesis. Owing to this effect, this cysteine derivative is expected as being useful as a remedy for diseases in which angiogenesis participates, in particular, retinal diseases such as diabetic retinitis, macular degeneration, retinal venous obliteration and retinal arterial obliteration, angiogenic glaucoma and tumors such as angioma.
On a découvert récemment un nouvel effet pharmacologique d'un dérivé de la cystéine qui s'avère un puissant inhibiteur de l'angiogenèse. En raison de cet effet, ce dérivé devrait pouvoir servir de remède aux maladies liées à l'angiogenèse, et en particulier aux lésions de la rétine, telles que la rétinite diabétique, la dégénérescence maculaire, l'oblitération de l'artère rétinienne, le glaucome angiogène, et les tumeurs du type angiome.
