ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A novel angiogenic composition obtained from the omentum is provided which acts as a potent and effective factor for the development of new blood vessels in living tissues. The angiogenic composition is a lipid extracted from the omentum using organic solvents which is then preferably injected into the preselected site where new blood vessel formation is required. This angiogenic composi- tion is abundant in supply and creates extensive new blood vessel formation in an organized structural network at the injection site within a few days.
